Troubleshoot VASP Verify
Practical fixes for missing icons, unavailable data, outdated results, different domains and incorrect website relationships.
The extension icon is not visible
Open the browser's Extensions menu. In Chrome, use the pin control beside VASP Verify. In Firefox, open the Extensions menu and pin it to the toolbar. Confirm the extension is enabled in the browser's extension manager.
No result appears
Wait for the popup to finish loading, then confirm you are on a normal http or https page. Browser settings pages, local files and extension pages are unsupported. Close and reopen the popup once.
The extension cannot update its data
Check network access to tracker.ape.law. In Firefox, confirm the optional technical-data setting if you want remote refresh. A firewall, privacy tool or hosting outage can block the request. A usable bundled or cached snapshot may still return results.
The result appears outdated
Open the popup again to request a refresh, then compare it with the live tracker and its displayed collection date. Update or reinstall from the confirmed Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons page.
The website uses a different domain
Search the legal entity in the tracker. Brands, groups, redirects and country sites can use different hostnames. A domain is matched only after Ape Law reviews a supported relationship.
The domain appears linked to the wrong entity
Do not rely on the result. Report the issue with the domain, record URL and a regulator or first-party source showing the correct relationship.
The official regulator page is unavailable
Try the regulator's main public register and search by legal name or reference. A moved page, maintenance window or automated-access block does not establish a status change. Contact the regulator for authoritative confirmation.
Update or reinstall
Use Chrome's Extensions page or Firefox's Add-ons Manager to check for an update. If necessary, remove and reinstall only from the public Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons listing linked by Ape Law.
Report an issue
Contact Ape Law with the browser and version, extension version, page hostname, what appeared, the time of the attempt and a screenshot if it does not expose sensitive information. For data problems, add the relevant official source. Do not send passwords, wallet credentials, private keys or confidential client information.
