Ape Law VASP Verify
Privacy notice
Effective 18 August 2026
Purpose
Ape Law VASP Verify has one purpose: it checks the website in your active Chrome or Firefox tab against reviewed domains in the Ape Law UAE VASP Licence Tracker. It can show a green toolbar icon when a reviewed association is found, and you can open the extension to see the matching entity, licence information and regulator source.
Information handled by the extension
Both the Chrome and Firefox extensions read tab URLs locally when a tab is opened, updated or activated, and when you open the extension. They extract the hostname and compare it with the tracker data stored on your device. Chrome classifies domains and URLs as web browsing activity even when they are handled only on the device.
The tab URL and hostname are not sent to Ape Law, Vercel or any other third party. The extension does not store them, build a browsing-history record or use them for advertising, profiling, analytics, sale or any unrelated purpose.
The extension does not read page content, forms, credentials, cookies or downloads. No person at Ape Law or its service providers can review the websites checked through the extension because those websites never leave your device.
Tracker-data updates
The extension includes a public tracker snapshot and can download an updated copy from the fixed HTTPS endpoint at tracker.ape.law. The request omits credentials and referrer information. It does not include the tab URL, hostname, page content, match result or any identifier created by the extension.
Chrome periodically checks for an updated tracker file. In Firefox, this request occurs only if you allow optional technical data transmission through Firefox's Permissions and Data controls. If you decline or later disable that permission, Firefox does not contact the tracker endpoint and the extension continues with its bundled snapshot.
The browser stores valid tracker data on your device so checks are quick and can still work when the tracker is temporarily unavailable. The file contains public regulatory and company information, not information about you.
Hosting and ordinary request information
Vercel hosts tracker.ape.law for Ape Law. When Chrome, or Firefox with optional technical data transmission enabled, downloads the fixed tracker file, Vercel may process ordinary HTTPS request information such as an IP address, approximate city or country derived from that IP address, browser or user-agent information, request time and the fixed endpoint path. This is the only location-related information involved; the extension does not request GPS or precise location.
Vercel processes this information to deliver, secure and diagnose the hosted service and may retain it for the periods described in its privacy notice. Ape Law does not use this request information to determine which website you checked, and the fixed tracker request cannot reveal that website.
Data sharing, retention and limited use
Ape Law VASP Verify has no advertising software, extension analytics or user account. Ape Law does not sell personal data, share browsing activity, create advertising profiles or allow people to read browsing activity. The browser stores the selected valid public snapshot until it is replaced or the extension is uninstalled.
Ape Law's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Such information is used only to provide or improve the extension's single website-checking purpose and is not transferred for advertising, creditworthiness, lending or other unrelated purposes.
For Firefox, the optional technical and interaction data declaration covers the ordinary request information involved in downloading the fixed tracker file. It does not cover the checked tab URL or hostname because those remain on your device.
This privacy-notice webpage
Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, session recording and site performance measurement are disabled on this privacy-notice webpage. Vercel continues to host the page and may process ordinary HTTPS request information to deliver and secure it as described in Vercel's privacy notice.
Limitations
The extension helps you check whether a website has been linked to an entity in the Ape Law UAE VASP Licence Tracker. A match is general information only. It is not an endorsement, legal advice, regulatory confirmation or proof that every service on the website is authorised.
